Anyone wanting to develop their skills, knowledge, trust and instincts and have fun doing so. There is no experience or ability qualification and no set lower age limit, although it is essentially an adult school because of the work schedule – we do work hard.
The student body generally comprises some experienced amateur practitioners, others who have less experience and some people who are coming to theatre and drama for the first time. LEATSS attracts many returnees, participants who come back – in some case regularly – in order to improve a variety of skills, made possible because course work and tutors vary every year. The proportion of returnees is sufficient to "jump-start" the groups after only a short period of acclimatisation thus enabling work at a high level almost from the word go. New participants are effortlessly drawn in.
The course is conducted entirely in English.
