Kate Colgrave Pope is a theatre director and acting practitioner. She trained as an actor at The Drama Centre London and later retrained at Birkbeck University receiving a Distinction for her MFA in Theatre Directing. She has worked as an assistant director at The Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester and Bolton Octagon, credits include; ‘The People are Singing’, ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’, ‘Night Watch’, ‘Wit’, ‘Into The Woods’ and ‘The Crucible’. She has a passion for new writing, devising and a deep love for community theatre which she has been involved in for the past 10 years, working alongside organisations such as; HOME, ‘Partners for Prisoners, ‘Community Arts North West’ and ‘The British Council’.
Kate has worked extensively in actor training for the past 13 years, specialising in Stanislavski, Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg techniques at various Drama Schools; ‘Italia Conti’, ‘Manchester School of Acting’, The Arden, Salford University and ’Birmingham School of Acting’.
She is committed to actor training and stretching the possibilities of how we train actors and seeking new and playful ways to develop a syllabus that is imaginative, robust and most importantly inclusive.
