I have over 40 years of experience as a professional theatre director and writer.
My directing covers a broad spectrum of work and sectors: Theatre in Education, Young Peoples’ Theatre, Community Theatre, the subsidised Theatre sector and commercial Theatre in the UK and Internationally.
As a writer I specialise in adaptations for young and family audiences.
No longer based with one theatre I’ve spread my wings to work with the education and lifelong learning sector as an advisor and workshop leader. I also work with numerous organisations as an Arts Consultant and Enabler.
I also work as a professional Artist. I am predominantly a landscape painter. I work on black paper using gouache paint. I also use watercolour and acrylics. Recently I have been developing a series of monoprints, etchings and drypoints. My painting is very important to me. It allows me to have a relationship with nature that is very important to me as an Artist in all my work.
I make no difference between my Theatre and Painting, both are vital forms of expression in terms of my understanding and interpretation of the world.
